A Deacon?s responsibility is to act as ?overseer? of the Church and
insure that the Church progresses unhindered. Contrary to popular
belief, in the Baptist faith it is not the Pastor who ?runs? the
day-to-day activities of the Church, but the Deacons and Elders within
that Church. A Deacon?s responsibilities include everything from
paying bills, handling finances, managing accounts, building
maintenance, business affairs, church and religious activities and so
on. The Elders oversee the Deacons and the Pastor and it is their
responsibility to insure that the congregation is receiving the right

scriptural law, etc.
