The general trick used to be to make an IPO
- sell a chunk of the company
- and invest the proceeds in something sensible

Many venture capital firms will look at providing the necessary
capital to develop and bring a product to market. The above comment re
IPO or initial public offering describes a similar route. However this
is not strictly speaking "making money" out of the product under
development, but raising the cash to develop it fully. Many
pharmaceutical and bio-science companies are good examples of this.
Software and tech companies were good examples but are now out of
favour. Remember the dot.com bubble!

A venture capitalist will want to see a decent business plan and want
to understand their risks and potential returns before investing.

headhunter_uk-ga,

Thanks for your comment. As you said, all those investment ways are
not pure "money making" strategy. I am expecting an income that goes
"immediately and straight in the pocket", even if the procedure might
be sophisticated.

To the researchers, I am not expecting here a professionnal level
consulting advice, but more a philosophical direction, concept, or
concret examples, from someone who do have knowledge/experience.
