How do I avoid embedding (ie, the inclusion of) an attachment in the body of an Outlook Express message? For example, when I send a picture as an attachment, the receiver also finds the picture below, within the message. |

no way, you can only zip with winzip (www.winzip.com) that file and then the receiver must unpack that file. Or you can sent the link to that image eg: http://answers.google.com/answers/answers-logo-lg.gif |

OK, Thanks. I am surprised and a bit disppointed, that OE handles attachments this way. But at least now I know about it, and won't wonder what I'm doing wrong. Incidentally, it's interesting to learn that if I first zipped attachments, it would solve my problem. It's extra steps, perhaps, for both the sender and the receiver, but I look forward to trying it out. As for sending a link, I'm guessing that you mean a link to an attachment stored on a Web-based email client using an IMAP server. I'm using Outlook Express, of course, and my ISP (Time Warner Roadrunner) uses a POP3 server to download messages to my hard drive, so using a link is not an option. Do I understand that correctly? |
