We would like to find the original source of Henry Ford's quote,
"Machinery is the New Messiah." We know he said this some time before
the Depression. Thanks.

Hi Narrative,

Henry Ford actually wrote an essay titled 'Machinery, The New Messiah'
in the 1920's. It is published in: Ford, Henry: My Philosophy of
Industry, a series of authorized interviews, London 2. ed. November
1929.

A copy can be found in the library of the Benson Ford Research Center,
I am sure you can get at it through inter-library loan. Unfortunately,
I could not find any online copy of this article.
