Hi kemlo,

The current Steward of the Chiltern Hundreds is Terry Davis.

"The Chiltern Hundreds date back to the 13th century. A hundred is a
traditional division of an English county, and the hilly, wooded
hundreds of the Chiltern Hills in Buckinghamshire were once notorious
as a hiding place for robbers. A Crown Steward was appointed to
maintain law and order in the area, but the positions duties ceased to
be required in the 16th century, and the holder ceased to gain any
benefits during the 17th century.
It has since been used as a procedural device to allow Members of
Parliament to resign."

Terry Davies will remain steward until the next member asks for the position.

Rainbow's answer was very comprehensive.

I doubt that Terry Davis is still the Steward of the Chiltern Hundreds.

The post is purely a device for rapid resignation from the Commons.
- I rather suspect that the 'application letter' is sent with a
resignation letter post dated by 24 hours.

Most of us have heard of a 'Cyber Squatter'
- a Chiltern Hundreds 'Squatter' would be a real PITA

Dragging out my soap box, I have long thought that there is a place
for a 'Chiltern Hundreds Party' which in US parlance is 'None of the
Above'.
