I have tried EVERYTHING! Mpegger, Audion etc., ad-nauseum. I am still
unable to convert my CD Studio Tracks into MP3 format for posting on
my SoundClick pages. It seems to come out m3u and not MP3. I
understand the 2 are allied in that M3U is the playlist part of MP3.
I have a MAC OS9 and am using Internet Explorer.
I need a "simple"--sequential--set of instructions on what do I do
from the moment I slip my CD into the slot on my MAC.

Hi dixon7118-ga,
I would like to know if you have tried iTunes already.

If not, you can download iTunes v.2.0.4 from the following page:

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120073

Also, which program is creating M3U files?

Thank you.

I haven't used a Mac in years, so I'll refrain from answering.
However, one of the simpliest programs for converting music to MP3 is
MusicMatch.

Try Goldwave. I've used it to make loads of Mp3's. http://www.goldwave.com
It's really easy to use. Use the "CDX" function to rip from Cd's or
the "batch processing" to convert files. The trial has full
functionability and lasts for a very long time if you're only ripping.

I generally use Easy CDDA Extractor. Check it out at www.download.com

I have used Itunes and musicmatch extensively. By the way, Itunes is
not only for the MAC and right now (in my opinion) it is the best
general mp3 program for ripping, burning, organizing, and playing
music. It is also very simple and intuitive. Musicmatch is really good
too, but I use itunes for everything (Iand I am a MAC hater, but one
look at the itunes PC software made me download it). Plus Itunes is
free.
