I have a Tungsten e
I want to use Intellisync to sunchonise the PDA with my Groupwise diary
I want to synchronise the contacts, expenses memos with the Palm Desktop
The Diary is synchronising perfectly but the addresses/contacts is till not working
I am using
GroupWise version 6.0.2
HotSync Manager version 4.1.2
Palm Desktop version 4.1.2
I have been getting advice from Intelllisync but cannot get this to
work following their instructions. I am still getting the message -
"Could not find a Palm desktop data file. After closing this message
you will need to open the Palm Desktop and close it again before
re-running the application".
The latest advice I have already had (and I think followed faithfully)
is as follows (so this should help you check what doesn?t work)
1. Uninstall Palm Desktop. Also delete the Palm Desktop installation
folder (C:\Palm) and access the registry by clicking on Start, Run and
typing 'regedit' then OK. In the registry browse to the following
folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\ and delete the ?Pilot
Desktop? folder. After doing this reboot your system.
2. Reinstall Palm Desktop.
3. Download and install the following patch: Intellisync Handheld
Edition - Palm Handheld Patch from
http://www.sync.com/support/isupdates.html
4. Run Intellisync and try a sync.
Before that I also followed their earlier instructions to do the following:
I suggest you to download and install the latest version of
Intellisync Handheld Edition version: 5.3.2:
Please use the link below to download Intellisync 5.3.2 :
https://69.20.5.20/d/index.tpl?P=38.836.76
You will have to use this serial key: 004532-10110-000DD0-D90032 .
Note that this link will expire on this Sunday, 10/24/2004.
Be careful not to have any antivirus enabled when you download and install
After downloading please follow the steps bellow:
(A) Uninstall Intellisync from the desktop
1. Run the uninstall utility for Intellisync or choose Intellisync
Desktop from the Add/Remove Programs list in the Control Panel
2. Access the registry by clicking on Start, Run and typing 'regedit' then OK.
3. Click on the + sign next to HKEY_CURRENT _USER, then click on the +
sign next to Software. Delete any folder under Software that starts
with Puma, Pumatech, or Puma Technology.
4. Click on the + sign next to HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE, then click on the +
sign next to Software. Delete any folder under Software that starts
with Puma, Pumatech, or Puma Technology.
5. Close the registry and launch Windows Explorer
6. Under the C drive, access Program Files/Common Files, and delete
the PUMATECH Shared folder, if it exists.
7. Under Program Files, delete the following folders, if they exist:
ISPalm
ISPilot
Pumatech
Syncwce
8. Under the C drive, access your default Windows directory (depending
on your Operating system, this may be "Windows" or "WINNT"). Under the
windows directory, locate the Temp directory and delete the contents
of the directory, but not the Temp directory itself. Also delete the
contents of the TEMP folder that may be in the root of C: Locate your
temp directories and delete the contents of these directories. Common
temp directories are c:\temp, c:\windows\temp, c:\winnt\temp and for
Windows 2000 users C:\Document and Settings\username\local
settings\temp. Make sure that you have Windows Explorer set to show
all hidden files or directories before doing this.
9. Get to a dos or command prompt (you may find this at start >
programs > accessories) At the command prompt do a cd
c:\winnt\system32 to get to the system directory. We want to register
3 .dll files - atl.dll, comcat.dll and ole32.dll:
a: at the prompt type regsvr32 atl.dll <enter>
b: if that is successful then at the prompt type regsvr32 comcat.dll
c: if this is also successful then at the prompt type regsvr32 ole32.dll
10. Reboot the system.
(B) Install the new version of Intellisync.
(C) Please download and install the following patch "Intellisync
Handheld Edition v5.3.2 GroupWise Patch" from
http://www.sync.com/support/isupdates.html
(D) Download and install the following patch: Intellisync Handheld
Edition - Palm Handheld Patch from
http://www.sync.com/support/isupdates.html
(E) Configure Intellisync and try a sync. |
