The guy who made the knees of Alanis Morissette's bees weak is Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds. Alanis has mentioned this in several interviews when discussing the song "Knees of My Bees." "Inspired by: Ryan Reynolds 'An infatuation song about my boyfriend, I always have to honor him in some way.' Alanis - Rolling Stone 'I wanted to find a way to express how infatuated and how in love with my boyfriend I was. The title was something I actually said to him several times in conversation--'You make the knees of my bees weak.' so that line is very precious to me. I think part of the reason I like playing with phrases is because the English language bores me a little bit. Obviously, everything has been said before backwards and forwards millions of times, so I want to play with it in the same way that someone would play with paints.' Alanis - David Wild Article, 2004 'This is my infatuation ode to my boyfriend. All of my records are pretty present tense, so whichever boyfriend I'm talking about is whoever I'm dating at the time I write the record.' Alanis - ICE Magazine" Alanis Morisette Website: Knees of My Bees http://alanishome.homestead.com/lyricskneesofmybees.html "Alanis Morissette has often written about affairs of the heart, but she's rarely written from the perspective of being in love, and she's certainly never recorded an album where she seems so in love and at peace as she has with her fourth album, So-Called Chaos. She doesn't hide her romance with Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, perhaps best known as the title role of National Lampoon's Van Wilder, thanking him in the liner notes and alluding to their relationship throughout this romance-heavy record." MP3.com: So-Called Chaos http://www.mp3.com/albums/621689/reviews.html "But now that she and her boyfriend, Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds ('Van Wilder'), have been together for two years, she's rethought the matter. Her songs 'Knees of My Bees' and first single 'Everything' celebrate the relationship." Alanis.330.ca: Are You Ready for Some Chaos? http://www.alanis.330.ca/2004/06/8-easy-steps-video-shoot-just-month.htm "What accounts for this turnaround? Maturity and new boyfriend Ryan Reynolds, an actor who has appeared in The In-Laws and inspired Morissette to pen lyrics like 'you make the knees of my bees weak'... Alanis Morissette: 'Knees of my Bees" was one of the first songs I wrote, because I was in a very infatuated mode. It was hard for me not to write about my boyfriend Ryan [Reynolds]. [Laughs] I'm still giddy! I think I'll be giddy about him forever!" rated this answer:![]() I'm real sorry. I made a mistake before I posted my last reply re Alanis. I read Pink Freaud's response and decided to reply to that in a semi-humerous kinda way. I also quickly scanned over leaping lizards post, noticed the bit about "please don't think that I accuse you of malice" and made the assumption that it was written by another google answers resercher who had said artists safety and wellbeing in mind. After a more carefull examination of the post I realise I've made a grave error of judgement that may have hurt some precious feelings. I'm truly sorry. Might go hide under my bed for a bit and try to comprehend what is going on here. Its like some kinda really strange dream for me. +61 433 102172 peter |

Peter, Thank you very much for the five stars. Please do not worry that you may have hurt someone's feelings. I can't speak for leapinglizard, but I took no offense whatsoever when you mentioned me in a comment to a question which leapinglizard had answered. Incidentally, the wisdom of many decades has taught me that hiding under your bed is not a good longterm solution for embarrassing situations. Somebody will always come along and make fun of you for hiding under the bed, and bingo, you're embarrassed all over again. ;-) ~Pink |

jellyware, I'm on a laptop too, and I'm at a desk working, but I'd be willing to wager that you are on the bed, not under it. But having a laptop, I know for a fact one gets a sore back surfing laying down. And when you flip over in an attempt to ease the sore back, your opposite hand is not comfortable with the mouse. I can't imagine the discomfort of being UNDER the bed... |

fortunatly for my posture, those days are over. I got out from under my bed, left my room, said goodbye to the city and now I'm moving to country nsw in search of a more wholesome way of living. its a slow process. |
