Supposedly, you can force Office to use one by typing the name of the
screen font you want to use into the font box and pressing enter.
Numerous Knowledge Base articles suggest this, but I can't make it
work. I'll keep looking for a way to force it that actually works.
Of course, I've never found a reason to use a screen font in an Office
application. There are other fixed-width fonts you can use, if that's
what you're after. (Courier New comes to mind, but I'm sure there are
many others.)
Just FYI, the reason Office doesn't allow you to use screen fonts is
because, as the name implies, they cannot be printed correctly. Since
Office applications are supposed to be WYSIWYG, it wouldn't make sense
to allow fonts that will never allow your printed document to look the
same as the one on the screen. |
