I have sourced a text document of Relativity : the Special and General
Theory by Albert Einstein from - http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/5001
- This document contains the text of Einstein's theory and low
resolution .gif format graphics for the equations contained in the
thoery. I need high resolution preferabley .eps format graphics files
the same as the low resolution equation graphic files that come with
the document in the above url. If a .pdf file format for the equations
is all that can be found then this .pdf format equation graphics need
to be able to be scaled up without loss of quality. (This is commonly
called a vector format.) These files will not be adequate in any
bitmap format, as I have to enlarge them around 1000%.

boshy-ga,

You can buy the full text of Einstein's work in hard copy for much
less than you're offering for this question.

Have you considered purchasing the text and scanning in the figures
that you require at hi-resolution?

Let me know if you need low-price ordering info for the book.

A scanned image is classed as a bitmap image because it connot be
scaled up with out losing image quality. It will not work. I
definitely need a vector format image (usually a .eps file) as I
intend to scale up these images at least 1000%. I you find a pdf
please make sure it has text based equations (eg. you can higlight
them and copy and paste them into another application) or has files
imbedded into them that are vector based file formats. Zoom in on
anything you find and see if the quality degrades. If it does then it
is not what I am looking for.
The pdf file found at the below address is not adequate it has low
resolution bitmap files embeded in it. You can easily tell this by
zooming in on one of the equation graphics. The first graphic is found
on page 19.

The pdf available at:

http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~sunilkul/Articles/Science/Relativity.pdf

is exactly what I want, but is missing the key ingredient of high
resolution vector format graphics. This pdf contains low resolutions
bitmap images therefore is not adeuate for reasons stated in my
previous clarification.

Hi,

Have you considered recreating the equations using Word's Equation Editor?

Thanks.

I have found in Google ("Special General Relativity Einstein pdf") this document.

The PDF file you point to was produced from HTML using htmldoc; most
of the graphics (including many of the equations) in those HTML pages
(which you can see at
http://www.marxists.org/reference/archive/einstein/works/1910s/relative/index.htm)
are bitmaps, so the "damage" was already done by the time the PDF was
produced. Some other software application(s) had to be used to produce
the graphics (they look too clean to be scanned images). I would
suggest that you contact the person credited with the transcription
and markup (Brian Basgen, brian@marxists.org, as given at the top of
the PDF file) and see what help he might be able to give you.
