Question ID: 423921
Problem: Auto Login with a Browser-URL to a .htaccess protected directory

(real) Directory: http://reporting.de/protected
ID: hello
PW: world

http://hello:world@reporting.de/protected does not work for me
Mozilla needs confirmation
IE (all patches) delivers syntax error

Are there alternativ (very simple) solutions if above constellation
does not work at all?

An acceptable approach would also be a piece of php-code which i
could implement on top of a php-file. This piece of code has to read
URL-Parameters (without confirmation-question) and in case of
concordance has to fly through to the other php-code otherwise has to
show error message.
