I'm doing research on the Indian book publishing market and would like
help answering the following questions:

1. # of books (in print and out of print)
2. # of books published/year
3. Total size (revenue) of the book publishing industry
4. Major Indian publishers
--# of books each major publisher (I define major as probably top 3-5,
anyone that has more than 10% share of the market) has in their
catalog
--# of books publisher publishes per year
--Revenue per year
--Share of market (in books published and revenue)
5. How many publishers constitute 80% of the market?
6. Breakdown of number of books (total and published every year) by language
7. Who manages books catalog information in India? In other words,
what vendors sell the information that lists out the title, author,
publisher, etc.)

Estimates are just fine (but pls note the sources).

If there are any pecularities to the industry (e.g. if a particularly
large # of books published target non-resident Indians, etc.) - it
would be great to hear that as well.

Please don't hesitate to ask for more information. Some pieces of data
are less important than others for me - so if you have trouble finding

way, you have more chance of them being answered.

As far as I know not even a single publisher's share is > 5%!!
