I play an online game that uses graphical software to allow the
players to talk and trade digital items with each other.

I want to create a bot(?) to automatically trade for me.  Is there a
particular programming language I need to use, or are there tools out
there to teach the computer to interact with the software as a normal
human user.

This bot would need to be able to recognise the graphics and operate the controls.

..you may be referring to a software with various highly illegal applications.
