<EBCT scanning.
Sales of EBCT scanners by Imatron (the sole manufacturer) have been
increasing steadily. They sold 15 scanners in 1998, 19 in 1999 and 30
in 2000. In 2001 sales are anticipated to increase by 30%. In 2000,
there were 70 scanners in use in the United States.
In 1999, two institutions reported carrying out 400 and 1,500 screens
per year respectively.
Imatron estimates that facilities carry out between 15 and 30 scans
per day. Screening facilities indicated that between 10 and 40 screens
are performed per day, and this number is increasing.
The cost per scan is estimated at $233. Most facilities charge between
$300 and $500.
This report estimates the number of scans carried out in 2004 as 10,400 ? 20,800.

Blood pressure.
According to Familydoctor.org aneroid monitors for measuring blood
pressure range in price from $20 to $30. Digital monitors start in
price at $40 for semiautomatic models. Fully automatic models start at
$65 and can cost hundreds of dollars. Finger/wrist devises cost over
$100. However they are not very accurate for measuring blood pressure.

i wonder why my earlier response (the second one) was not posted. here
is a summary:
thanks again for making additional search, however i'm afraid that
your EBT data are way outdated, Imatron was bought by GE 3 years ago
and the number of CAT scans (EBT and CT) doing calcium scoring are
above 10,000. I wonder how your ran your search. Moreover, the
question i tried to get across was the power of purchase by physicians
for their office equipments. In other words, whats the average
purchase and purchase power for each doctors office. I understand that
i varries by speciality like cardioloigists equipments are more
expensive etc. I wonder if there is any data out there. At the end,
i'd like to express my gratitutde and would like direc my future
search to you. Please advice if and how i can do that. I'll be happy
to deposit tips. Regards, Mort.
