Thanks for your clarification. I was glad to be able to provide it to
you promptly. In order to make the answer "official," I am
repostingit here in the answer box:

My answer is that if you start with the Roman numeral for 19, which is
"XIX," and you "take" the one ("I") out of the numeral, it leaves you
with the Roman numeral for twenty, which is "XX."

Search Strategy:

I really didn't research this one. I was just lucky enough to have
the answer come to me out of the blue.

You haven't said whether this riddle has a single "right" answer that
you can check it against, so I am posting this as a comment. My
answer is that if you start with the Roman numeral for 19, which is
"XIX," and you "take" the one ("I") out of the numeral, it leaves you
with the Roman numeral for twenty, which is "XX."

If this is the correct answer, I expect that you will let know so that
I can collect my "reward."
