I am running XP Pro and I?m using Thunderbird & OutLook Express. When
I?m trying to click on the link provided in either of the emails it
won?t work. The little hand comes up but when I click on it nothing
happens. I can send emails with no problems; I can even use the email
address? in the body of the email, just not any links.

My skill is about high Novice, if that helps any.

Thank you for any help as this is getting to be SOOOO frustrating!

Kathy

Hi Kathy,

Are you using Internet Explorer as your browser? If so, please make
sure it is set as your default browser.

Open IE and go to:
Tools / Internet Options / Programs /
Make sure there there is a check next to: "IE should check to make
sure it is the default browser".
Click Apply / OK / Close IE.
Reopen IE and choose "Yes" when it asks you if you'd like to make IE
your default browser.
Now try your email links again.

If that didn't help, try this:

Close IE.
Click Start / Run / type: regsvr32 urlmon.dll (there is a space
between the two) / click OK.
Open IE and go to:
Tools / Internet Options / Programs / Click on "Reset Web Settings"
Now try your email links again.

Please let me know how that goes,
hummer

hummer:

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I knew it was some simple setting
but just could not figure out which one. This has been driving me
nuts for about 5 wks now.

Now to save this answer for the next time I screw it up :^) This is
well worth the $20 to me even though it probably was a very simple
answer for you.

Dear Kathy,

Thank you for the terrific news, I'm glad to hear that you can finally
put that one to bed (ofcourse, there's always another one down the
road, isn't there?). For the record, although the solution seems
simple enough, it wasn't in my head. I searched Google and forums to
try and figure out what was going on with your computer. I posted the
two easiest and obvious ideas, since you mentioned the word novice,
but had some back-up solutions in case neither of those two worked for
you. Here is my answer again, to make it official. By the way, unless
GA falls into oblivion, this question/answer will stay accessible
should you ever need it.

Now try your email links again.

Thanks again,
hummer

Answer was just what I needed so now I can go on to find another "problem".

katera-ga:

And DO be careful on what you click on (especially if IE is your
default browser), as "enticing" links in email are one way peopel
catch viruses and spyware. You won't want to find another "problem"
like that. Happy surfing!
