JCWP Comes to an End
Three communities - Anniston, Ala., and LaGrange and Valdosta, Ga. -
saw the building of houses and hope June 7-13, 2003, as volunteers
from around the world came together to build alongside former U.S.
President Jimmy Carter and Habitat homeowner families.
Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn work together
installing vinyl siding on the house they were helping build in
Valdosta.

JCWP 2001: South Korea
They came with hammers, nails and the grit to bring decent, affordable
housing to the communities. Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his
wife Rosalynn, along with South Korean President Kim Dae-Jung, joined
thousands of volunteers to build 136 Habitat houses in six sites

Former President Jimmy Carter, his wife, Rosalyn, and Habitat founder
Millard Fuller, were at McCarr, Kentucky, to begin the project,
Hammerin' In The Hills Jimmy Carter Work Project. A new home was being
built for Ms. Anna Booth and her two sons, Carl, 15, and Craig, 10.
Prior to this, the Booth family lived in a mobile home owned by Ms.
Booth's late husband.

PRESIDENT JIMMY CARTER'S "HABITAT FOR HUMANITY" HOUSING PROGRAM
PRAISES FERRER.Borough President Fernando Ferrer was interviewed on
WNYC Radio's "On The Line with Brian Lehrer" on his solutions to the
pressing problem of the city's shortage of affordable housing. The
interview was broadcast live from the sanctuary of St. Philip's
Episcopal Church.
The New York chapter of Habitat for Humanity, which builds housing for
the poor, sponsored the event, and arranged for Ferrer to discuss
housing solutions with former President of the United States, Jimmy
Carter, and his wife Rosalynn.
