This refers to Bessie Smith L.P. recordings. There were 4 LPs on Columbia (US)
GL503/4/5/6 also issued on Philips (England) BBL 7019/7020/7042/7049
also on Philips (Continental) B 07002/3/4/5 L. There are references
to Philips(Continental)(or just possibly Fontana Continental) to
issues having numbers 01.002L, 01.003L, 01.004L, 01.005L. Did these
exist as separate issues or were they additional numbers on the
Philips (Cont) issues, perhaps for example on the covers or just on
the labels themselves? Otherwise could they have been issued only in
certain selected European countries?
