Hi, 

We're looking for the best wholesale price sources for alginate
(molding / lifecasting purpose) in bulk. So far we found some on the
internet, but they are all sold by distributors with mark-up already.
Is it possible to
find any source cheaper than US$5 per pound?

Could you provide some more information:

- A more detailed description of what you're using it for.
- Do you need a particular brand or type?
- Is dental alginate acceptable?
- How many pounds do you want to buy?
- Is this a one-time purchase?
- Are you purchasing it under a business name?
- What state are you in?

Thanks for your inquiry. Here are some clarifications: 

1) Lifecasting purpose 
2) No particular brand, as long as the set time is not too fast --
around 5-8 min.
3) Dental alginate is fine 
4/5) Multiple purchases based on product demand -- no specific
quantity target set yet -- willing to buy in bulk (say 500+ pounds ea.
if we can bring down the price.)
6) Company purchase. 
7) Based in CA -- Also, willing to import from other countries,
especially China/Taiwan since we do import already
