Certain IP blocks are allowed to access certain smtp servers and send an email through them. Could i have a list of such ip blocks and the server they are allowed to access? (for example, comcast users might be allowed to access comcast's smtp server) Quick answer = large tip. Regards. | |

The SMTP addresses of a specific service provider may be found by performing an NSLOOKUP of the domain name (nslookup -querytype=MX domain.com). The blocks of addresses used by a specific service provider (COMCAST per your example) may be found by going to the American registry of internet numbers (ARIN) at www.arin.net, and entering the name (COMCAST) in the WHOIS field near the top left of page. The other current registries are APNIC (Asia Pacific), LACNIC (Latin America and Caribbean, and RIPE (Europe, North Africa, some Asia). |
