Hi,

I am interested in purchasing an mp3 player from www.suntecint.com,
but was wondering how I can do some background research to check the
feedback history on this internet store? I am kind of reluctant only
because of the problems of data mining and personal information
selling that most online shops pratice.

Thanks

Steve

I've found that resellerratings.com does an excellent good job of
rating internet sellers.

Checking the site that you listed shows that they've received no
ratings in the past six months. This probably means that they're
either very new or not that big of a "player" in the marketplace.

resellerratings.com is good..

better business bureau site is good too... http://search.bbb.org

I've done this a lot, and those don't turn up much (which they don't
for your example), I look at the company's "about us" page to see if
it looks like a generic template, and to see if they have a valid
address. i also do a plain google search on the website name, w/out
www or com. suntecint gave a bunch of ads, but one guy who said he
bought something from them with no problems. and they advertise their
website as shopsuntec.com, so searching for shopsuntec yields a
similar thing: a bunch of ads and a different example of a
problem-free order... so, based on all this, i'd be comfortable with
ordering from them.

Sometimes the company will have many different websites, with
identical underlying content - that may or may not be a bad sign. with
my example it was, because some of the websites had TERRIBLE reviews,
and he was hopping from site name to site name to gain a clean record,
only to dirty it again. this can be tricky to spot,
electrodiscounts.com and mpsuperstore.com are an example, although not
the one i mentioned before, can't remember the site name(s) for that
one - he had a lot of them tho.
