a couple months ago i saw a TV program i believe it was "techies" or
some other related program in which they described some that that you
could do when placing a cell phone call that would make the recieving
caller ID show a different number than what was actually calling. in a
sense i could use my cell phone and call my brother's cell phone, but
instead of my number apearing i could have it display any number of my
choosing. have you heard of anything like this, if so how is it done??

Yes. It certainly can be done but I don't think that the methodology
should be publicised.

This was once the domain of phreakers,now it's being used by
collection agencies,there is a "legit" online company that enables
it's clients to do just that.
