Is this the type of thing you're referring to...?

This article mentions that Kevlar -- the current standard material for
many body armors -- is being combined with polyethylene glycol and
silicon to make an even tougher grade of material with special
properties.

Let me know if this is what you're after.

Dear keith1426-ga;

These documents should give you an overall outlook on the grade of
ballistic resistant polyethylene ECPE (extended chain polyethylene)
that is used for body armor by the military in order to meet the
MIL-C-44050A standard or other required threats.

Polyethylene ultra high molecular weight (PEUHMW). I am sorry about
the error I made by removing the space after the W PEUHMW. Your answer
is close, I would just like to know the weight type of the
polyethylene. If you have no luck please submit your answer and I
will happily accecpt as the information is very helpful.

Dear keith1426-ga;

Thank you for allowing me an opportunity to answer your interesting
question. In addition to what I have already found, I will also offer
this that may be useful as well:

UHMW-PE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) is a polymer with a
molecular weight of 3 and 6 million. This is a impact strength 8 times
greater than HDPE. ?In a ballistics test conducted at -65°F, a 1? slab
of UHMW-PE stopped a .45 caliber bullet at a distance of only 25 ft?.

?UHMW has a molecular weight of 4,500,000 to 6,000,000 as compared to
high density polyethylene which has a molecular weight of 500,000 or
less, or when compared to low density polyethylene with a molecular
weight of 50,000 or less.?
