I neede to find and purchase a Space Heater. It is the kind used to
heat a small room or area. I need to find a "Holmes HS 100" model. It
was also called "heatsafe". This model is not made anymore although
very similar models are still manufactured. This particular model was
manufactured and sold in large volumes a few years ago and was sold in
stores like Home Depot etc. It must be this exact model to be useful
to me. I believe it will be found as a used item which someone now
owns or it will be found in unsold inventory of a retailer or
wearhouser. The original cost was under $10. It must be a working
model. I am not looking for answers like "try eBay", I am looking for
a place where I can buy this particular model today, and it is
available for sale at a reasonable price. if you email me your fax #,
I will fax you a flier with more info and a picture of it. THANKS!

Hello fastone-ga,

We can not give out personal information, so no one here can get a fax
from you. However, if you could take a digital picture of the box or
what not and post it online and link to it, that would be wonderful.

Another idea would be to look in places that repair used space heaters
or that recycle or restore them. Maybe even look at a place that makes
component parts for the heater industy. They would probably have an
inventory of used heaters that are used for spare parts.

Or find out where Home Depot sends its unsold items as it was
originally bought at Home depot.

Thanks

After looking, I am not able to find any reference what so ever of a HS-100
(HS100 etc) model for a holmes heater. There doesn not appear to be
a user guide, it is not lsited under product ratings or reviews etc.

I doubt that this is the correct model number. It is possible that
this model number was used by a specific vendor (like wal-mart) which
might explain the obscurity.

How sure are you that it was called the hs-100?
As a follow up- there are thousands of references to the "Headsafe"
but none of these are "HS 100"

i am sure it is an "HS 100". i can fax you a copy of the front of the
box if you give me a fax #. The closest current model we can find is a
"HFH 105". We need to find one that was produced a few years ago when
they made this particular model.
THANKS

Hello,

I spoke with Holmes, and they do verify the model # is correct and it
is no longer made. They recommended a different model to me.
The trick is going to be finding a heater of that model that is in
working condition 7 years after it was manufactured. In fact, Holmes
does not even carry the warrenty or parts for it anymore, and since it
was a 5 year warrenty, that tells me it hasn't been manufactured since
1999.

Just some information thus far.

We know that Home Depot sold this particular model in 2001. I think it
will be found in an overstock/warehouse type store like a "Big Lots"
type store or at an eBay type place or in a garage sale situation. Is
there a good place to post a "reward" type poster on the internet that
will get to lots of targeted people? (Maybe in a cold climate area
where there may have been more purchased or even in an area where the
users don't have central heat and use it for a primary heat source)

THANKS
