Hello,
There are a wide variety of products airports use for security. In
this answer, I have focused on baggage and passenger screening, but I
have also provided links to lists of other types of airport security
products. Companies are listed with their name first, then location,
product name and Web address. Finding what the companies are working
on was difficult, since they probably want to keep their research
projects secret from competitors. The congressional hearing transcript
linked to below discusses some of the future prospects for security
technology.

Search strategy:
I started with a Yahoo search on airport security. Finding one
manufacturer, I used the "Similar Pages" command from the Google
Toolbar and then from Google itself to find others.
