Every time I try to play a QuickTime video, the video plays fine, but
the audio stutters something fierce. It makes it almost completely
non-understandable. I have a relatively fast computer. Here are my
specs:

-- Windows XP SP2
-- Sony VAIO S150P laptop, Pentium M, 1.6 ghz
-- 512 MB of RAM
-- On a fast cable modem connection
-- Quicktime 6.5.2 (updater says it's all up to date)

Hi again, jhabley,

I'm all for trying the easiest things first - did you check your connection speed?

Why does the audio stutter during playback?
"Your connection speed in the QuickTime control panel may be set to
high. Open the control panel for QuickTime (see below) and select the
connection speed which is supported by your hardware."

Does it happen with every movie you try to play?
I would try removing the program and then reinstalling it.
If that doesn't work, try downloading Winamp and use that instead. It
should be able to play Quicktime files.

Thanks both of you. This is jhabley, but this site has a silly bug
that logs me in as a different user sometimes.

I changed the speed in the QuickTime preferences, but it didn't help.
The video streams perfectly fine too, leading me to believe it's not a
bandwidth issue.

And it happens with each QuickTime movie I play. It's happened through
three complete OS reinstalls too. I can't use Winamp, since the files
I want to play are embedded into web pages (they're at adcritic.com).

oh iam a bit paranoid about Quicktime after downloading it from apple
installing then a scan find a virus in Quicktime.exe.
I think it did make the system less stable as well.
Deleted it and things are better.

Well if nothing works there's always another way

try this link below and download the quicktime alternative it will run
your quicktime files but not with apple quicktime program.

When you do the install make sure you install the bundle program
called windows media player classic because that is what you will have
to use to play your files

i personallu used it and it's very fast and stable.
