My guess is none (worldwide) do splicing of the spinal cord; 50,000
hospitals do fusing of disks and similar proceedures; one million
hospitals etc do emergincy spinal surgery when no other reasonable
option (mostly 3d world countries) is available or the surgery is
minor. In the USA, patients are often flown by heliocoptor to top
centers for the most difficult operations. Neil

Thanks. My question relates to orthopedic back surgery. There are
roughly 6,000 hospitals in the US, but I do not believe all of them
offer back surgery. Neurosurgery (spinal cord) is something different.
