Background: I am researching the possibilities of opening a drive through espresso shack. Apparently they are very successful in other parts of the country. If you are unaware of what I am speaking about, I have provided links at the end of this question for your review. I live in PA and I am a hop skip and a jump from the MD border. Question: I would like to know the name's, phone number's, and or website's of the agencies I need to contact to find out what building specifications, health codes, or even if this type of buisness will be allowed to operate in PA and or MD. For example: Let?s say I lease property at a gas station or another location to put my espresso shack. In order for me to run my business out of this shack...what do I need as far as building and health codes are concerned? Do I need my own restroom in this building or can I use the gas stations facilities? Do I need to be hooked up to city water and plumbing or can I have my own contained water system and internal plumbing? I am not even sure that these espresso shacks will be allowed to operate in these states since I have not seen any such similar business. What permits do I need to obtain? These are the types of questions I need answered. I am looking to you to point me in the right direction so I can get these answers from the proper agencies. Please feel free to e-mail if you have any further questions. Hi, I worked at one for two years. It was fun to watch business grow so fast, the owners had to work very hard for the first year as I was there only emploey. By the 2nd year they had three other employes, and were taking in about $1800.00 a day. We had a water tank that was filled up every other day via a garden hose, connected to a RiteAid. The RiteAid also provided a restroom. The rent for the spot in the parking lot was about $1200.00 a month. The health inspector came out about 4 times a year.If your willing to work a little harder than you may think, it's actually a pretty fun and profitable venture. Good Luck! |
