Currently, AT&T does not use GPS for phone tracking. They use a
method of triangulation between towers to locate a handset. I do not
believe that this data is available on the handset, it is used by the
network for emergency and billing purposes.

The AT&T phones have a option called "FIND A FRIEND" this you can use
via the handset to locate the cell phone anywhere it is.. HOWEVER it
only works via the handset.. BUT there has to be a way to track a
phone still sence this does it, it must be possible. I need to know
what software i need to track the phone.
