I need a translation into Latin of an epitaph I am considering for a
gravestone. The subject was a learned, original and exciting young man
who died unexpectedly at age 23. I want it to say something along the lines of
'passionate (not in the sexual sense - in the sense of intense, vivid,
ardent, thrilling) and unexpected (in the sense of surprising,
unorthodox, original, unconventional)' - ideally it would be
'passionate and unexpected' as the word 'unexpected' had particular
significance for this individual - but any combination of synonyms as
listed would be acceptable, the key is to have it be both literally
accurate and pleasant sounding/looking to a non-latinist - no words
that would provoke mirth in an untutored viewer because they
sound/look 'silly'.
