Hi greybear,

Not sure if this answers your question, however I located the word
boshbop in the Hamlyn Pocket Crossword Dictionary. It is under the
category of 7-letter animals. Unfortunately, I have no idea what kind
of animal this is.

Best wishes,
Rainbow

My guess is that this is a misspelling of "boschbok," the name of a
type of antelope.

Rainbow - Thank you! That's where I came across it!

Pinkfreud - I think you probably have it right. The tranliteration of
Afrikaans/Dutch names by British English speakers is variable to say
the least.

My thanks to you both.
