What physical changes to the body does 5-10mg of Methylphenidat have.
I have read pages and pages on the internet, nothing makes sense.
Are there any soft tissue, mucose membrane effects or blood vessell
dialations? What is the cause of a migrane type headache that is not
touched by conventional medication; but is totally releaved by 5mg
dosage first thing in the morning. Somewhere there is a link between
sinus, nerves, or blood vessels. Please do not guess, I believe the
dosage is too low to constrict blood vessels or speed up the nervous
system dulling the pain. This 5mg pill stops it dead, where emitrix,
motron, advil, asprin did nothing. There is something else, my gut
feeling is
it has to do with sinuses. This treatment works for me over the past
2 years. My 2-5 day migrains are history, but no one knows why
(without guessing). Prior to 1998 I had no history of migraines. My
first batch of migraines I treated with Afrin nasel (with some, but
poor results).

There could be some decongestant action. Sudafed (Pseudoephedrine) is
a decongestant, and is not recommended for those with hypertension.
Same deal with methylphenidate -- the slight "speeding up" as it were,
could have that decongestant effect, and thereby alleviate your
headache.

Have you ever tried Sudafed to see if it helps?

I have tried decongestants including sudafed. Afrin and warm salt
water mist into my nostrals helped ease and shorten the headaches, but
only methylphenidat in the morning on an empty stomach sometimes with
a cup of coffee always stopped the headache before it ever had a
chance to take over. Usually within 15 minutes. It still amazes me
that this works so well without fail. I have tried other meds at the
same time of the day with out results. But I do notice the coffee
does help speed up the effect of the methylphenidat (hot tea works
too).
