Originally recorded and written by the Aussie group Moving Pictures in
the 80's but has since been covered by Aussie artist Shannon Noll who
was the runner up in 2003's Australian Idol TV show.

No source for this, I just knew it being an Aussie and a music nut :)
I'm sure if you search for any of those terms I've mentioned above
you'll find out more :)

Hi, thanks for your input. Moving Pictures did record this, in 1987 I
think. However the lyrics and music were written by Chris de Burgh and
first appeared on his Into The Light Album in 1986.

These are two (very) different songs. Of the two songs, the first,
was that written by Garry Frost of Moving Pictures in 1982.
I'm not aware that the 1986 Chris De Burgh song was ever released as a
single. The Garry Frost song proved just as popular, when originally
released by Moving Pictures, some twenty odd years later when covered
by Shannon Noll.
