I'm writing a novel and would like to create a fictional perfume which
contains a testosterone-triggered compound (I'm not a chemist so
please use layman's terminology as much as possible). This compound or
chemical will not be intended for perfumery, but is appropriated by my
heroine for her perfume; it is intended to be used to control male
behaviour (i.e. anger/rage/aggression) -- so what I am looking for
first and foremost is if there is something like that already out
there. If it doesn't exist, then is there some plausible compound that
could have a similar effect. Remember, this is for a novel and doesn't
have to be wholly realistic, as long as it COULD work.

I'm not clear on what you mean by "testosterone-triggered compound."
Are you speaking of pheromones? Can you give some additional details?

I apologise for any vagueness in my query: I am aware of pheromones
and the research being done into various uses for them. I was thinking
more along the line of cutting-edge research into, for instance, some
behaviour modifying drug which targets only men, or at least targets
the male hormone (which, of course, women have to some degree, just as
men's bodies contain estrogen to some degree). It needn't be a "real"
drug, in that sense, because what I'm writing is fiction, but it has
to be plausible. What I need is a convincing description of the drug
(the drug may incorporate pheromones, hormones, or chemicals which are
known to interact mostly with the male hormones testosterone,
androgen, etc), the chemical components of the drug, etc. This
description could be quite esoteric and involved, and I would then
extract what I needed to make a convincing scene.

The "end result" of this is: one of the characters in my novel hears
about this drug from another character and decides to steal it to use
it in a perfume she has created...
I hope that helps, if not, let me know.
