I own a sports bar in Tempe and want to have a Great Superbowl party this year. The Superbowl party will be the climax to our Grand Opening Week (we've been open for a few months in a "soft opening", now it's time to blast off as I'm happy on the operations side now. I will pay all researchers $10 for a mildly ok answer. $25 for a strong answer and $50 for a great answer. I will pay multiple researchers, don't lock up the question -- just ask me to post a question to you when you're ready to answer. Mind Bending Originality that will make the local papers and the local TV stations come out to cover our party will get paid even more! |

HI Kingway, Someone will tell you that a question can only be answered by one Researcher for the price posted, but if others post comments that you like, you can post another question with their name in the subject box (but I see now that you are pretty savvy about that). Yesterday someone was offering a 2006 Superbowl cap on eBay. It might be a counterfeit souvenir, but then if he has one he is likely to have many, also since he has a store, so you could ask: http://cgi.ebay.com/Super-Bowl-40-Cap-2006_W0QQitemZ8743006000QQcategoryZ37748QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem That gave me the idea of your buying this one or several - or having similar made - and selling or giving them away (a price question, of course), maybe giving them away with x beer ordered - with something special for the first person to order a round of XL beers. You could also order older Superbowl caps from eBay and auction them off. An auctioneer (you?) could do some homework about the relative game to talk up interest. The project is all about PR and advertising, so even if you end up giving the unsold caps away to the disappointed last members of the crowd, it could have the desired effect. Assuming that that cap on eBay is fairly authentic looking, you could have similar caps made, possibly with your bar's small logo or name on the back, and sell or give them away. Here are just two of many sites that custom embroider caps: http://www.customizedwear.com/ http://www.karscot.com/caps.html Cheers, Myoarin |

Check out the options and prizes at http://www.scapromotions.com/index.php?task=type&whichone=17 They are not the only providers of insurance for unlikely events (like making a hole-in-one at a golf tournament). You can offer big money prizes (you can advertise them) and only have to pay the insurance premium in case a customer wins the contest. (Of course, you want them to win because it doesn't change your premium). If you post another comment here, I'll see it. Best, Cindy I'd like to be a Google Answerer but I'm not one. However, one of the questions asked yesterday has helped me with a report for my own business. |

Biggest XL Party in town

Hello, You can get plenty of official Super Bowl XL clothing and other gear at nfl.com. Also, the Arizona Cardinals website has plenty of merchandise. They have Pat Tillman jerseys on sale for under $70 and the proceeds go to the Pat Tillman foundation, so it's a good cause. Plus Pat Tillmans jersey number is 40 and it's Super Bowl 40. A couple of those plus a couple nfl.com/NFL Shop gift certificates would make great door prizes. nflshop.com http://cardinalsproshop.com/?rc=navigation&rs=cardssite Since the Cardinals will have a new stadium for this coming season, why don't you do some sort of drawing for some tickets. I don't know what sort of budget you have planned for prizes, but pair of club level seats or a group of four good seats tickets should be within reason. http://azcardinals.com/images/pdfs/ns_relocation.pdf has pictures of the stadium layout and ticket pricing. As for decorationg, the whole Super Bowl theme have the whole waitstaff dress as football players. The bartenders and managers dress as referees. You can get refs uniforms @ http://www.pro-ref.com/catalog/0_football_referee_uniform_package_2451917.htm You could have a super fan/12th Man contest for customers and you could give away a tailgate prize pack for whoever comes dressed in the best fan gear (face paint, costume, etc) and have the customers in the bar vote for their favorite fan during half time (have the staff narrow it down to 5 or 10). You could have the drawing for the tickets at half time too. If you called around, you probably could get a radio or tv station to show up and do a broadcast for at least the fan voting and the drawing for the tickets. You also could see if the radio station or tv station could do something to give away a reserved table for 6 with a party package (NFL.com has a beer bucket, they are calling it a pail and not mentioning any beverages, with a Super Bowl XL logo or logo drinking glasses or hats) or a $100 Gift Certificate to your sports bar. You could do a countdown to the super bowl by showing old super bowls (or highlight videos or nfl blooper videos) for the week leading up to the Super Bowl. You could run an ad in a local newspaper - a 3" by 1" long mock ticket redeemable for $x off of appetizers. You could also have themed mix drinks (webtender.com has lots of drinks or you can make up your own and have the bartenders test them) for each playoff team or just the two in the Super Bowl. Also, offer tailgate foods in addition to the regular menu. ______________________________________________________________________________ With more info on the capacity of your sports bar, how much you want to spend on prizes, menu specialties, are minors allowed entrance, etc people might be able to come up with some really good (and unique) ideas. |

Find retired NFL players living in the area and ASU players to come and be seen. The monterous men could sign autopgraphs and add color commentary to the game. If you flew OJ up to the pat it would surely make the papers. |

QB's & Cheerleaders Have the guys come as football players and the ladies as cheerleaders and name the best pair and superbowl king & Queen. If wanted to be fancy you could ask them to come as the heros of teams gone by, it will get the pulses going the lads and lass's will love and never forget it! Bottle of champers to the winner, give them a good night people don't want prizes when they go out, just a good time given by a good host. |

This can be simplified to what people(mostly men) who will be at your bar long for the most. Alcohol. This may be costly to you, or it may be profitable. Whichever way it works you you will have many poeple come back to your bar. At the door You collect 5 Dollars. You set the rules to the game to your terms. For every touchdown each table in the bar gets a Pitcher of Beer of choice. For ever Field Goal 1 round of drinks. As such you can make the rules up yourself. You can also offer food perhaps for every pass completion. I know this would really bring them in at the bar down the street from my house. They do stuff like this all the time. You have a week to figure the terms out. |
