I am looking for case studies of U.S. Senate campaigns where the
candidate has contributed at least a million dollars of his/her own
money to his/her own campaign. The classic example of this would be
Jon Corzine, NJ, 2000. For this question, the candidate may have won,
lost the general election, or lost in the primary. The time range is
the last 20 years. The case studies need not be extensive; a few
sentences summarizing the general strategy of the campaign and the
opposition would suffice. Please provide at least 12 cases--I would
reward additional cases or exceptional detail with a tip.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I am really looking though for some
case studies--specific information on the strategy of individual
campaigns, such as advertising choices, timing of campaign, finance,
polling, message/theme, and any other decisions made over the course
of the campaign.

The amount of detail does not to be great but it must be regarding
campaign strategy.

I am already familiar with opensecrets.org--a very interesting and informative site.

Steve Forbes and Ross Peor both contributed lots of money to their own
presidential campaigns and Richard Mellon Scaife spent a lot of money
undermining Bill Clinton.
