I need a translation into Latin for an English phrase. It's supposed
to be the motto for a fictional intelligence organization in a
role-playing game I'm hoping to run.

The phrase is:
"We stand astride the shadows, that the light may not be extinguished."

Don't know about a translation into Latin; but how about a translation
into English? How can standing astride the shadows stop the light from
being extinguished?

Depends on the direction of the light
- walking on ones own shadow is quite easy

It's not supposed to be taken literally. But I could still use the translation.
