duluoztrip-ga answered my question about a song a while ago but there is no website or record of the suns of jubal anywhere on the net. I can only assume that Suns of Jubal was a local band and therefore didn't have major distribution. I really want to find their albums so if anyone can help me let me know. |

This may help you--I was able to get to the Suns of Jubal thread on the Montauk the End website-- http://www.montauktheend.com/talk/default.asp by entering "Suns of Jubal" (with the quotes) in a google search-- and then clicking on the cached button. When I went to the Montauk site directly, and tried to do a search there-- nothing came up. Try using my round-a-bout method to read the thread. There are some leads there on people who have recordings. Apparently there may be another group by this name, that recorded on the Resistance label from Canada-and research turned up that this label is a "white supremacy" label. I am hoping this is not the group you are looking for. |

Several years ago I burned a CD from an old tape of the Suns of Jubal/Uninhibited album. A friend of mine copied it from his New Yorker roommate at a West Virginia college. It's not CD quality, but it's not bad either. I don't know if it's complete, I think there are 9 or 10 songs on it and one of them is Cigarette Dancer (one of my favorites). Want a copy? |

I have copies of both the commercially released CD's by the Suns, Uninhibited and Not of this World. Besides that they had a few tapes that they recorded and distributed on their own, but I no longer have mine. Several years ago, I actually tracked down and contacted Doug Kinney, the lead singer and writer of most the Suns music and asked him it would be okay for me to burn copies of these discs and sell them to people who asked for them. Doug is now the minister of a church in Sagg Harbor, NY and still a very interesting, though very different guy! Doug liked the idea that people still wanted his music and agreed. The way it worked was this; it cost $15 for 2 cds. I keep $5 for postage and supplies costs and I send $10 to Doug as a donation to his ministry efforts. Since that time I probably sent him close to $300. Lately, I haven't had many requests. If you want copies, send $15 (per set) via paypal to stevehebe@yahoo.com. When I receive the money, I will burn the discs and forward them via priority US mail, with scanned copies of the cover art. When you receive them, throw them on, kick back and enjoy the fond memories of days gone by! ;-) |

I, too, have fond memories of East End summers and Suns of Jubal shows. I also remember hanging out with the guitar player once and awhile.... Can't remember his name. Anyone know what happened to him??? |
