The answer is a movie title suggested by a cryptic clue: for example
feline monarch = Lion King. Can anyone come up with the movie
suggested by the clue "Hiya complimentary flowers"?

How about "Hello, Aloha"?
http://www.bcdb.com/bcdb/detailed.cgi?film=4039

The word "Aloha" is associated with complimentary flowers (i.e., a lei).

What do you think?

Doesn't work for me, sorry. Aloha is a greeting or farewell - it is
lei that stands for flowers.

Well, the customer is always right, but it cannot be denied that word
"aloha" is itself closely associated with receiving a lei
(complimentary flowers). See:

Sorry to be curmudgeonly, juggler-ga, but it still doesn't feel right
- I promise to accept it as an answer if you turn out to be right.
Back to the kids, stressedmum-ga - very imaginative, will post answer
when I have it so you can sleep again.

Well, I don't quite know why, stressedmum.ga, but it seems you're
right - Hello Dolly is what I needed. No more sleepless nights, then.
If you're a Google researcher, stressedmum.ga, feel free to post it as

Hello Dolly -- this is a long shot and i don't really think it's
right, but it might get some others thinking.

My very obscure reasoning for this is thus:
Hello (Hiya) Doll (a compliment?) Ly (as in Lei)

Yeah, it sucks, I know. Someone please solve this one. It's keeping me
awake at night!!!

The first movie title that came to my mind was Woody Allen's "What's
Up Tiger Lily?" Hiya being "What's Up" and complimentary can mean
"free" - and tigers are free. And the flowers are lillies. Yeah... I
know, I'm stretching it a bit here too, with the tigers thing. I
searched for movies brginning with "hello", "hi" "greetings" and even
"welcome" in the title, but nothing else clicked for me. I'll keep
searching. I love puzzles too!

"Hello, Sweetheart"

Hello for Hiya
Sweetheart is both Complimentary and a common term used for a type of rose.

you may have settled on "hello dolly" but that seems like a real
stretch. i vote with irishlad for "what's up, tiger lily?"
hiya = what's up
complimentary flowers = tiger lily
leave the tiger = free part out.
the tiger lily is a flower simular in appearance to an orchid which
can be used in a corsage and given to someone, your prom date for
instance, thus complimentary flowers. if this is for a puzzle in a
magazine or newspaper, perhaps you can post back when the solution is
published so we can get the definitive answer.

Goodness, I feel the room swayin' and the band playin',
itsalphaandome-ga -- I'm just as shocked as you! And it's a freebie. I
have yet to attain the lofty heights of a GAR. I'm just one of the
hecklers in the peanut gallery so there's no answer to be posted.

Cheers
