Question ID: 428409
What are the top 5 online news sources for French Internet news.
Either in French or English. Other than the ones below, which I
already have. The answer should be 5 URLs, I do not need any
descriptions or anything.

http://www.journaldunet.com/
http://news.google.fr
http://www.zdnet.fr
http://www.weblmi.com/
http://www.neteconomie.com/perl/navig.pl/neteconomie/accueil

Thank you.

Le Monde, the influential Parisian newspaper. Note that, like the New
York Times, it has many special editions and special sections:
http://www.lemonde.fr/

Agence-France-Presse, the equivalent of Reuters or the Associated
Press. Here's the English home page:
http://www.afp.com/english/home/

France Inter is a series of radio stations in France, each with a
different emphasis. French people living outside the country will
listen to its short-wave news and entertainment programs. Here they
are on the web:
http://www.radiofrance.fr/chaines/france-inter01/emissions/pollen/

Similarly, TV5 is the equivalent of the public television programming
in the U.S. Some cable stations carry TV5 in the U.S. (sub-titled).
Comcast does in my community, though I have to admit that I watch it
less now that they've moved it from 6 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. But the first
link below is the home page and the second is the news page:
http://www.tv5.org/TV5Site/programmes/accueil_continent.php
http://www.tv5.org/TV5Site/info/actualite_internationale.php

For business news, similar to the Wall Street Journal, we have Les Échos:
http://www.lesechos.fr/

The best Google search strategy is to use either English or French
terms in combination. I find it's easier to use Google's Advanced
Search and search only in .fr domains -- but you'll want to be
comfortable with French:
Business journal Paris
Le monde Paris
France televisions informations
France Inter

What I need is online news sources that cover the Internet, like the
examples I gave. Not news about life in general. News that monitors
Wanadoo, AOL France, Ebay France, France Telecom, and so on.

Macahongus --

You have three of the best already in JournalduNet, Netéconomie.com
and ZDNet. Here are 5 others:

French government Information Ministry's page on Internet developments:
http://www.internet.gouv.fr/

The Forum for Internet Rights has a collection of relevant news here:
http://www.foruminternet.org/actualites/?PHPSESSID=c443e9b517ef7414be3dd4bffc83ff2d

L'Internaute:
http://www.linternaute.com/

01Net, a publisher of a variety of Internet and PC-oriented magazines:
http://www.01net.com/

And VNUnet, another publisher:
http://www.vnunet.fr/index.htm

Google search strategy in French language domains:
l'internet + informations
l'internet france informations

If any of these sites are "better" than others, don?t forget that you
can enter them into Google, then click on the "similar pages" results
turned up by the Google search.
