I am looking for a supplier of a water soluble contrast agent that has
been approved in the United States for intravascular use. We intend
to use this as an additive to an implant and will not be free flowing
within the body. The product quantities needed for developmental
purposes will be about 10Kg of
material, in 1Kg lots. In commercial use the need will be about 100Kg
per annum (starting 2009) and increasing severalfold over the
subsequent years. Total demand will level off at around 500Kg per
year in 2013. The material should preferably be generic and have an
existing DMF that can be referenced with the FDA. Please provide
supplier names and estimated pricing
based on this information.

Hi amarsawh12-ga, What imaging modality are you considering? I.e.,
iodinated contrast for CT, X-Ray, etc., or Gadolinium for MRI?

Anything that is radioopaque for angiography. Eg. Hexabrix, Renocal,
Iohexol, Sodium Ditrizoate, ditrizoate meglumine, Iopamidol, Iopentol
etc. could work. I need to find out which ones are generically
available at a reasonable price. Checking with Bracco, Cook
Diagnostics, Berlex etc. would be something to do. I have already
checked with Houvione, and their prices are too high.
