I have a weather dependent business. The nearest local NOAA weather
station is Paducah or Ft. Campbell. I want to track the weather
conditions to the sales. I have a great deal of sales history of
which I can place in an Excel spreadsheet, either by day, week or
month. As I said before, maybe I could have a description for the day
as sunny, rainy, 40% clouds, two tenths of rain, etc.
Another use would be for forcasting sales. If I know that a
particular month or period historically has many sunny days or rainy
days then that could help project sales. Likewise, if I plan on going
into business in different areas of the country, what can I expect of
the weather there and what effect weather might have on business.
Bottom line I would prefer not to have to type in the information for
everyday. I can get around Excel easily enough if it's a source I
could import.
Going back over the last fifty to one hundred years would be fine for
trends. And tracking the day to day over the past couple of years
would be great. Does every NOAA station put out basically the same
reports?
