I heard or read this quote at least three years ago, but not more than six.
I need help finding out the name of the person who said it. Here's
the jist of it, (and it's possible of course that significant aspects
of what I remember aren't correct):
A reporter interviewed ___________, who had a hand in forming the
internet/much of modern technology. When the reporter asked, "How do
you feel about the internet, and how much information people have
access to today - are you proud?"
_________ replied, "Not at all! I mean, there's potential, but right
now I feel that we've created the most complex, difficult to approach
bunch of information ever. I'll put it this way - I'll be satisfied
when I'm in my backyard, in a hammock drinking lemonade. When I say
out loud, 'I'd like more information on Albert Einstein, and a
hologram screen shows up in front of me -- with the information I
wanted - then I'll be satisfied.'" |
