Recently my son-in-law used google to search for online websites that
sell cameras/ looking for a good deal. He thought he'd found one-He
purchased a camera and the company sent him not only the camera, but
lots of accessories he didn't ask for or order and they charged him
$200+ more than the price of the camera which he thought he purchased.
To return the camera he would be required to sign an agreement
agreeing to a restocking fee before they sent him an address and a
code that would allow him to return the camera. When he told me about
his dilemma, I told him I always check out a new company by typing in
their name on google and doing a 'search within' using the term fraud.
When I did that, the response was a plethora of other victims of this
specific company detailing their specific complaints of doing business
with bestpricecameras.com Now my question--does google ever review
these unethical companies and disallow them to pop up in a search on
your website? Or do you have any other method with which to deal with
unethical companies? Or is it---- the basic buyer beware admonition?

Is there some national center for online fraud? Can you give me the
current address of bestpricecameras.com. And, the name of the owner or
owners? Does google have a suggestion about how to get this company
closed down? I am already completing a form for the consumer fraud
division of the AG's office in New York State. I am also attempting to
get access to any public info allowed by the state licensing and
permit agency to get as much info on company structure and owners--can
you help there? The name Joey Saideh showed up in a couple of
searches online related to this compay, and others which all seem to
be owned by this guy, including JandKcameras, infinitiphotos.com, Mr.
Accessory.com and infinitycameras.com

Thanks for your help

Please note that Google Answers Researchers are not employed by
Google. We are independent contractors, and we cannot speak for Google
or its policies. That said, you seem to have misunderstood the purpose
of a search engine. A search engine does not typically recommend,
endorse, or otherwise pass judgments on online material. A search
engine finds what is out there in relation to certain keywords or
phrases that you have provided. The information found may be good,
bad, or neutral, but (with a few exceptions) it isn't the job of the
search engine to differentiate such things.

How profound pinkfreud-ga/---smugness becomes you. I have a slightest
inkling of what search engines are used for---however some of us mere
mortals may have questions--seems that only reveals our ignorance to
some of you independent contractors. None of you who have ever
answered my earlier questions -felt you had to tell me that you did
not speak for the company or the person or the issue you researched.
You simply told me what you had found.

Then you confound me by admitting there are some exceptions to your
"does not typically" tutorial.

not sure why you even bothered!

I did not mean to offend you. People often misunderstand the functions
of search engines, and it looked to me as if you were expecting a
search engine to somehow police the links that it returns. It also
appeared that you expected that someone here could speak on behalf of
Google. If that's not what you meant, I'm sorry to have misunderstood
you.
