I'd like to know where I can buy - online or other, pants like the
ones Mary J Blige wore during her live performance on the 2002 BET
Awards when she performed "Rainy Days" with JaRule. As best that I
could tell - they never zoomed in extremely close but the pants were a
pearlescent white color, see thru, but they were lined at the pelvic
area. They had patches of (maybe)silk or satin & they had sequins or
rhinestones dangling from each patch - all the way to the ankle. If
the pants were custom made, who made them & where are they - I'd like
the pattern & instructions. If you didn't see the show, I believe it's
being reAired through the entire month of July 2002 on BET. Thanks!!!

Celebrities of Mary J. Blige's stature rarely if ever buy ready-made
items--with her increased visibility and success over the past few
years, mostly all of her stage/performing clothes are created by
top-ranked designers. A photo of the stunning cream-colored/white
pearlescent pants/vest outfit you describe can be found on the website
www.yahoo.com, click on the NEWS section and then do a search on the
name Mary J. Blige and the photo will appear. Usually when photos
like this are published in the fashion magazines or other magazines
(IN STYLE, Vogue, Ebony, Jet), the designer's name is credited, but in
this case it was mistakenly left out.

If you are willing to pay $3,000 or more for this pair of pants, you
will have to contact Mary to find out the name of the designer (if she
thinks you are a fan who can probably afford the pants, she might
reluctantly tell you how to contact the designer). She is represented
by ICM (International Creative Management), 40 W. 57th St., Suite
1800, New York, NY 10019 or get the mailing address off the back of
one of her cd's made by MCA Records (official website mcarecords.com).

SINCERELY,

Artisticatmosphere,

You can jump right to the Mary J. Bilge photos here:

These were taken June 25, 2002 at the 2nd Annual BET Awards in
Hollywood. From the looks of the fit, sheer materials, and unique
beadwork, these are definitely a custom item.

That's not to say that a skilled sewer couldn't duplicate them,
though.

Ah, that should be Marty J. "Blige".

Watch those typos...

Thanks to both of you!! Anyone else?? No, no - I wouldn't purchase a
pair of trousers that are over $3000.00 - I'm an interior
decorator/seamstress & in addition to house hold stuff - I do a lot of
intricate hand made wedding gowns. I could probably make a really
close reproduction, so the designer's name would be helpful in case
the finished product is extremely close... Thanks again for those
comments!! Please Keep 'em coming!
