Hello schovelnote-ga,

Have a look at this "Online Business 101" page:

http://onlinebusiness.about.com/cs/startingup/a/101.htm

Note that you have to click through several pages to read the entire
article here. And there are also links to pleny of additional related
material that might be of interest.

After you've looked it over, and had a bit of time to crystallize your
thoughts, let us know what sort of additional information you would
like as an answer to your question.

Thanks...and good luck.

When I started my business, I contacted the local Small Business
Administration office and the local chapter of Service Corps of
Retired Executives(SCORE). They met with me and provided lots of great
free advice and also a complete start-up kit with all the forms I
needed for federal, state, and local filing requirements. They were
extremely helpful.

The SBA website also provides a lot of the info electronically,
including startup kits. There is lots of free information and
downloadable forms.

To get information tailored for your locality, go to the site for the
local SBA office for your area.

You can find contact information for your local chapter of SCORE at
the SCORE website.

Good luck with your new business!
