hey, It's Laura, former owner... got an email requesting info and a
friend (thanks Shelly) told me there was a discussion somewhere so I
found it.. will email donna back and keep my eye on this forum.
Actually a girl, forget her first name, but her last name was Pinkston
and she was from Texas.. she was chasing me down the whole time I
owned him to buy him. Apparently she had tried him out on the barrels,
wanted him, but I was trying to guy him from the lady in MISS at the
same time and she let her headline pass... anyway, I hit hard times
(still there) and she drove from Texas and bought him.
Michelle who owns him now got him from her. Maybe the girl who I sold
him to never registered him in her name. She paid $10,000 cash (talk
about sweating with that under my pillow)...
Owner before me called him Broadie, I called him Cole. He is the
sweetest horse, especially for a stud. You can hand breed him or let
him loose. He is a gentleman. I only tried to breed one mare once. She
was 23 and all the garbage going on in mylife at that time.. left me
little energy to try again.
As far as barrels, I tooled the barrels a couple times. I didnt click
with him. Mostly trail rode him - he would walk out nice but dont amp
him up.
He was a joy to ride in the practice pen. He was smooth and you could
ride him among mare with no problems. My daughter, who doesnt usually
like horese, loved him and how he would toss his head and nicker when
you approached him. This often tangled his long mane beyond belief
until I discovered Cowboy Magic. He even laid in the round pen one day
with his head on my lap snorting out with every breath one day. A real
sweetie.
Lance told me not to feed him alfalfa. Heed that advice. Makes him
hot. I fed Equine Sr (like that feed for most horses) and a grass hay
plus supplements.
Reccomend a wedge on the front right hoof. Mild one, but the angles
needed a little help.
I feel bad for the poor guy to end up in troubled homes over and over.
He is a wonderful stallion with incredible breeding and tons of
talent.. I would reccomend someone get him who wants to use him as a
stud and trail ride him.
I did see one of his get at horsebreakers.com sale last year. Primal
Rage, APHA. He had his dads same sweet temperment, thick full mane and
tail and great confirmation.
Lance told me: He was trained for futurities.. a lady bought him,
rodeod.. won WPRA money, hti hard times, divorce etc .. sold him back
to Lance.. the MISS lady got him...she had troubles etc... I got
him... etc etc...
Please email me with any other questions...
