Are you running Expansion Pack or regular Diablo? Are you looking to
for a hack to make your own items?

we have found some sites that allow gamers to purchase new items for
use in the game. the site provides the gamer with the description of
the item and after purchasing- the site owner meetys the gamer in a
game to hand over the items. We want to start making our own items, so
I guess a hack for making new items is what we need. No exansion pack
though- regular old "bought-it-at-walmart" game.

The items these people sell are items that they found during play, or
duplicated using various methods, which are against the rules as layed
out by Blizzard. You can't just "make" items for Diablo II.

can you outline those methods and provide some links to further
resources and clarify "Blizzard"?

Blizzard Entertainment(http://www.blizzard.com) is publisher of the
game series Diablo (Normal, Diablo II, Lord of Destruction) and
maintains BattleNet, the service that players use to play the various
games online.

As for providing sources to allow you to duplicate items, I won't do
that as it goes directly against the usage terms for BattleNet as
outlined on http://www.battle.net/tou.shtml:
"A. You are entitled to use Battle.net for your own personal use, but
you shall not be entitled to"

"(v) use any third-party software to modify Battle.net to change game
play, including, but not limited to cheats and/or hacks;"

"(xv) modify any file that Blizzard does not specifically authorize you to modify;"

"B. In the event that you violate any of the foregoing provisions,
Blizzard may at its option and without notice to you"
"(i) temporarily suspended your access to Battle.net; or
(ii) immediately terminate your access to Battle.net;"

BattleNet has terminated many users subscriptions for use of hacks,
cheats and duped items.

I have no intention of utilizing this information in order to violate
the terms of service of blizzard or battlenet.

Can you point me in the direction of some resources that would show
how to create or duplicate items within the online version of
diabloII?

Again, the use of duplicated items is strictly against Blizzard's
Terms of Service. Creating and selling or using these items is
strictly prohibited.
