I am an australian fly fisherman who has previously fished in alaska ,
USA and canada. I wish to arrange a 2 week fishing trip in British
columbia b/w March-August 2005.I wish to target trout and esp
steelhead but do not have a problem with some salmon fishing.I am
looking for someone to research such a trip as everyone I speak to
maintains their facility is the best in the world.

Elton --

Being in Seattle, I've fished quite a bit in this state and in BC. As
you might expect, the trout season will be better early (March-June).
Only silver salmon will be running in any quantity that early. Salmon
runs then start in July, with kings, silvers, chinook all running. By
that time I've had trouble getting trout to bite, inasmuch as fly
larvae will be plentiful.

A couple of questions:
* do you want a single outfitter and single place to lodge or do you
want to change fishing locations every 3-4 days?
* someplace remote? Or some amenities? A place like Painter's Lodge
(Campbell River) is a great place to dine and leave the spouse while
fishing but the biggest salmon are on the ocean side of Vancover
Island:
