Greetings! I discovered many options for the renting of private
villas in Belize. The first offer I encountered was from Global
Travel Club. Their offer was for villa on Ambergris Caye. Their
vacation description read:
"We offer a choice of private beachfront homes for your stay on
Ambergris Caye. Each privately owned home is located within a few
miles (north or south) of San Pedro Town. Each home has a fully
equipped kitchen, from two to four bedrooms, and most have two full
baths. Your accommodations include transportation to and from the San
Pedro Airstrip and we can book your domestic flights from the
International Airport to San Pedro if you wish. We can help you with
recommendations and reservations for diving, snorkeling, fishing and
mainland tours of Belize's magnificent rainforests and Mayan ruins,
and tell you where to go to rent bicycles and golf carts; we will also
reconfirm your international return flights."
Their site also offered Casa Plata villas and the picture on this page
was very charming, and the page included rates and offered various
amenities:
"Casa Plata is an oceanfront villa with three bedrooms and three
bathrooms. The third bedroom and bath are located in a casita which is
separate from the main house and has its own private outdoor shower.
The second bedroom in the main house is a study with a queen-sized
sleeper sofa. The villa has an open plan airy living, dining and fully
equipped kitchen combination with cable television and a telephone.
Small custom dip pool with wraparound sun deck perfect for sunbathing
or stargazing."
From the description, they seem to offer villa rental and various
amenities.
On the same search page I found a link to the Caribbean Villas Hotel
but it didn't look as private as I think you may want. It was more of
a hotel atmosphere. The description for that business read:
"Caribbean Villas Hotel sits at the southern end of a small fishing
village, San Pedro, on a sequestered beach. We have designed a self
sufficient, energy conscious resort that provides all the latest
technology and comfort; all the while keeping faith with the "small
island village" setting of which we remain justifiably proud as active
citizens. The charm and friendliness of this small community provide
visitors the real flavor of island, small town life. There is an
abundance of great specialty restaurants and shops run by locals who
make strangers feel at home. The barrier reef with its fantastic
snorkeling and scuba diving lies just a few minutes away from our
beach. Eco trips and Maya tours leave from our pier. Pick a hammock
under the palms; Caribbean Villas is an outstanding spot for renewal."
Unusual Villa Rentals (same search) looked very promising. In the
left column of that site was a link (down the page a bit) to Belize
villas for rent. The Palm House was listed there and I followed that
link but, again, it looked like a hotel atmosphere. However, they did
offer many pictures so you may want to check them out.
A listing for Belize was also under Going2Travel.com. It offered four
links to still different villa rentals at the following places:
Captain Morgan's Retreat - Located 3 1/2 miles from San Pedro on
Ambergris Caye, Captain Morgan's Retreat offers secluded relaxation
and adventure on over 800 feet of white sand beach. The villas and
casitas feature private bathrooms and verandas, plush queen size beds,
high thatched roofs and hardwood floors.

The Villas at Banyan Bay - Tropical elegance for the discriminating
beachcomber. Each large unit has more than 1,000 square feet, with
complete kitchen, jacuzzi tub in the master bath, veranda with ocean
views, upscale furnishings and tile floors. Very quiet and private,
perfect for the ultimate getaway.

Jaguar Reef Lodge - Seven duplex cabanas. Exceptionally high qualityat
a very competitive price. The Jaguar Reef Lodge is the backdrop to
Belize's longest and finest mainland beach. Its strategic location
makes accessing Belize's incredible natural sights a breeze. An
adventure traveller's dream.

SunBreeze Hotel - An idyllic Caribbean getaway on sun swept Ambergris
Caye just a few minutes stroll from the quaint resort town of San
Pedro, and adjacent to the Barrier Reef, the largest in the western
hemisphere, renowned by divers around the world.

Another place offered a more secluded villa rental. It was titled 1st
Choice Vacation Rentals and had this to say; "The villa is part of a
small enclave of five private homes that share a private beach & a
pool. It features two bedroom suites, three full baths, a fully
stocked kitchen and a spectacular living
area with soaring vaulted Belizean hardwood ceilings and a huge
terrace overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Each bedroom suite is
completely independent with its own entrance and mini-fridge. The
whole house has air conditioning, coral stone floors and brightly
colored hand-glazed tiles and sinks."
I believe this was more private.
It seems belize is swarming with villa rentals, so I narrowed the
search with the phrase "villa vacation in belize private home" and
found a few more possibilities including a private listing for a
couple that owns a house in Belize on the beach that they rent out.
It looked very private. Their text read:
"Like most tourists, we had great hopes for fun in the sun on our
vacation in Belize. We did have fun, but it went way beyond that. It
embraced us, enchanted us, and swept us off our feet. As vacation drew
to a close, we knew wed found it. Even thousands of miles away, the
spell that had been cast would not let go. A few months later we
bought a home right where we had that magic vacation. We wish we
could be there all the time, but we cant do that right now. When we
are not there, you can rent our house, which we have named "Villa del
Sol". Whether you seek privacy and quiet (a heavenly honeymoon or a
rejuvenating get-away) or want a week of steady activity (days and
nights can be filled with great "stuff to do") you can have the
vacation you seek with Los Encantos as your "home base" in Belize. We
hope to have you as our guests! [signed Gary and Kathy Carpenter]"
They have a direct contact at kathycarp@attbi.com and their site have
many details.
I hope this information assists you in finding your perfect vacation
villa with all the privacy you require. I enjoyed researching this
question and now long to visit Belize, too! Also, by contacting any
of the sites I've found, you may be able to find more private
residences to rent on belize. Good Luck!
